Participate in our competition and win your Copenhagen Journey!

As part of the “Climate Cool” activities jointly held by the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy and China Science and Technology Exchange Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Climate Change Media Award Scheme is a professional competition for media workers such as journalists and editors as well as graduate students who wish to be engaged in journalism and communications with the purpose of increasing media understanding of climate change and improving their reporting level.

The 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change which will be held in Copenhagen in December 2009 was supposed to hammer out a post-Kyoto agreement to decide the future of the human battle against climate change. Followed by the two successful former activities for the years 2007 and 2008, we launched an introduction activity for reports with the theme of “to change the earth’s future by today’s action”. Winners of this activity were funded by the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy to participate in and report on the Copenhagen United Nations Climate Change Conference. They also had opportunities to visit climate and environmental science research institutions, scientific projects and famous scientific and technological medias.

Climate change is influencing our life and living conditions more and more, so every one should take action to reduce the effects of climate change on our environment. Undoubtedly, the media plays a crucial role in delivering conviction, disseminating knowledge and inspiring actions. Participate in our activities and use your behavior to inspire and encourage more people: Climate change, we can all be part of the solution!
