Future of International Climate Negotiation and Climate Change

2009 Climate Cool Reporting Workshop Series II
The Copenhagen Negotiation (the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference) will decide the future plan for how human society will tackle climate change and in particular, it will strive to reach a consensus of respective responsibilities to reduce the emissions of participating countries. The participation of the media is crucial and will influence future national development. Many media workers have made preparations for an in-depth coverage of the Copenhagen Conference. However, some still need to increase their understanding of this important topic. In order to help media workers have a deeper understanding of Climate Change, we held the Climate Cool Reporting Workshop Series II: Future of International Climate Negotiation and Climate Change, on October 21 in Beijing, so as to have more scientific and objective coverage, provide publicity of how to deal with Climate Change and raise public awareness. Doctor Lv Xuedu, Deputy Director of the National Climate Center, and domestic senior media journalists shared their experiences with us.

This was a project of the second stage activities of the 2-year “Climate Cool” jointly held by the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy and China Science and Technology Exchange Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Please refer to the courseware (Oct 21, am; Oct 21, pm) and course schedule of the Workshop for detailed information.
